Netflix's 'Stranger Things' Is Making People Hungry for Chocolate Pudding

Fans are urging Hunt's to bring back its canned Snack Packs

If you're not watching Stranger Things, it's time to seriously reevaluate your life. Netflix's newest smash hit draws inspiration from 80s pop culture phenomenons like Goonies and Close Encounters (plus a dose of the X-Files and a little Alien) to create an inherently binge-watchable series that has quickly achieved Pokémon Go-levels of fandom on the internet.

The show has even stirred up some cravings for nostalgic snacks: In episode eight when the main characters are holed up at their high school hiding their telepathic, superpower-wielding pal Eleven from shadowy government agents, Dustin and Lucas raid the school cafeteria for pudding — but of course, Stranger Things is set in the 1980s, when Hunt's Snack Packs still came in cans.

According to TMZ, Stranger Things fans are now bombarding Hunt's with requests to bring back the old-school packaging for its Snack Packs — presumably so they can eat it right out of the can while watching season one for the fifth time.

Reached for comment by Eater, a spokesperson for Hunt's says, "Snack Pack pudding has been a family favorite for years, and we're thrilled it was featured on the show. We're always looking for ways to better connect with our consumers, so if they want throwback packaging we'll certainly consider it. Stranger things have happened!"
