What Olympians Eat; Win Free Starbucks for Life

Five things to know today

Happy Wednesday (insert camel emoji here). T-minus two days till the Rio Olympics kick off, meaning hordes of hungry athletes have already descended on the Brazilian city. Where will they all eat? In a dining hall the size of two football fields, natch. Headed to Brazil for the games? Here's our guide to the best eats in Rio, from coffee to cocktails, breakfast to dinner, and all the essential, must-taste street food snacks in between.

In today’s vital food news:

— Speaking of the Olympic dining hall: Athletes will have 10 different kinds of yogurt to choose from. (Don't worry, there's also plenty of dairy-free options.)

— Those daily Frappuccino pitstops really add up. Thankfully, Starbucks is offering a chance to win free drinks for life. It's a rather complicated, Monopoly-esque process involving a digital game board and game pieces, but if you're a Starbucks Rewards member and have the patience for such things, you can get details via the company's website.

— The Center for the Public Interest just released its annual list of "Xtreme Eating Awards," AKA "Things to Eat If You Really Hate Yourself." This year's honorees include the Cheesecake Factory's Fried Chicken & Waffles Benedict, which clocks in at 2,600 calories, and an extra-large, candy-loaded slushie from Sonic containing nearly 1,000 calories.

— Besides being delicious, it turns out oysters are also good for the environment: The bivalve industry has witnessed a major boom in recent years, and all those oyster farms are helping make ocean water cleaner as the creatures filter out various substances. Time to celebrate by eating a dozen.

— And now, Stephen Colbert tackles the issue of Donald Trump’s weird KFC eating habits:
