The Great British Bake Off, also known as The Great British Baking Show in the United States, is gearing up for a another season. The televised culinary competition will premiere on BBC One in the United Kingdom next Wednesday, August 24. Sadly, there's no word when the new season will air stateside.
This time around, 12 amateur contestants will test their skills in an attempt woo judges Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood. The latest installment has only just been announced, but it's already mired in some controversy. The Mirror reports some are accusing the show of sexism following promotional images that featured male bakers working with blue icing, while their female counterparts handled a pink version.
